Korean Patchwork Workshop 7-12-2025

$125.00
  • When: Saturday, July 12, 2025

  • Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Location: Wash Park area in Denver, CO. This workshop will be held at my home sewing studio. You will receive the exact address via email the Monday, 7/7/25 before the event.

  • Maximum of 5 people for this class. Please email: mimi@mimishim.com if class is sold out to include your name to the waitlist.

  • A minimum of 3 people for this class. If minimum is not met, a full refund will be issued to those who paid for the class.

  • Please be mindful and let me know about cancellations as soon as you can so that I can reach out to the waitlist.

Join me at my Denver sewing studio for a relaxed and inspiring morning of creating, connecting, and learning together. This intimate 3-hour class offers an opportunity to slow down, engage your hands mindfully, and craft a beautiful small patchwork piece uniquely your own.

All essential supplies are provided, and no prior sewing experience is needed to join. I will guide you through the foundational hand sewing technique as well as a machine sewing method, both primarily used in the creation of “jogakbo” (조각보). Feel free to bring your own scraps - thin fabrics work best (non-stretchy). Light refreshments will be provided.

'Jogakbo' (조각보) is a Korean patchwork technique that weaves together tradition, creativity, and utility.  It transforms scraps into vibrant patchwork multi functional cloths - Pojagi (포자기). This technique is a great way to create something stunning with left over fabric from other projects and practice wasting less, while the slow process lends itself for gathering, conversation and connection.
