Quilted Jackets

the quilted jacket that sparked an exploration

It seems like a natural progression, as a fashion designer turned quilt maker, to start making quilted jackets, but like most things in life, the process is not so linear. It started with a simple idea, something I made for myself, and posted on Instagram, and then my friends asked me to make it for them. They wanted to pay me to make it for them. At first I was like, no… I can’t do that… then I was like, wait, why not?!? So pretty soon, people I didn’t know wanted to purchase this jacket from me. And all of the sudden, a business had started.

the Quilted Cardigan

After making jackets from jacquard fabric that I purchased, I wanted to try quilting the fabric myself and then designing the jacket from the quilted fabric. This wasn’t as successful as the jacquard fabric and cotton sateen lining was far superior.
